It has an important hot spring 80 km north of the city. It is flowing from 1945; 400,000 liters of water in its groundwaters of 725 and 1,300 metres depth. It was dicovered by the Geological Institute of Uruguay when drilling in search for oil.
It is full of tourists along the 12 months of the year.
The authorities were concerned to provide the best comforts and attention for the tourists who arrive looking for a rest and its madicinal and healing waters. The spring water has all the ideal conditions for its usage as:
DRINK: It has the same great quality as the one in your table, it is a stomach sedative and diuretic with cicatrizant agents. And BALNEOTHERAPY: it is recommended in stimulating and desensitizer baths.-
It offers the tourist: Modern and comfortable bungalows and motels equipped with fridge, firewood heaters, grills, full bathrooms with thermal shower, air conditioning, cable TV, garage and crockery and cutlery for tea and more.
The building has 5 MUNICIPAL swimming pools: one indoor pool with 38ºC TEMPERATURE; another recently modernized, half covered; another in the open air with 36ºC; one sports pool with 25 m length and 26ºC TEMPERATURE; the last one has 27ºC TEMPERATURE with underwater lights, three slides, changing room, terrace and solarium, located between the park and the gardens. THE MUNICIPAL HOTEL POOL IS ONLY FOR GUESTS' USE AND HAS A 36ºC TEMPERATURE.
