Rivera (state)

Rivera state is located in the north of Uruguay and borders at northeast on Brazil.

It has a surface of 9,370 km2 and a population of about 100,000 inhabitants.

The state is named after the founding father General Frucutuoso Rivera.

Rivera is the state capital and it borders on the Brazilian city Santana do Livramento.

They both form the peace frontier and share the International Square.
